Poetry Challenge: Steam & Cover

It’s been a little while, but I thought it would be fun to participate in #RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Challenge! The prompt words this week are Steam & Cover. The poem I came up with is definitely NOT inspired by today’s weather. It’s a cool, rainy day here in New Hampshire, and the rain is creating more of a mist than steam. Anyways, here’s what I came up with:

Rain meets hot pavement

City hides under cover

of steamy darkness

    • Thank you, Pat. I’ve experienced these type of hot, humid conditions where rain doesn’t cool things down, but instead makes it feel like a sauna!
