It’s been a little while, but I thought it would be fun to participate in #RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Challenge! The prompt words this week are Steam & Cover. The poem I came up with is definitely NOT inspired by today’s weather. It’s a cool, rainy day here in New Hampshire, and the rain is creating more of a mist than steam. Anyways, here’s what I came up with:
Rain meets hot pavement
City hides under cover
of steamy darkness

I can only imagine what it must be like to be in a rainstorm and flooded conditions where the temperatures were soaring.
Well written haiku.

Thank you, Pat. I’ve experienced these type of hot, humid conditions where rain doesn’t cool things down, but instead makes it feel like a sauna!
