Star & Bloom Haiku

Monday is here again and you know what that means! It’s time for RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Challenge. Our prompt words are Star & Bloom. I cheated a bit this week because instead of using both words within one haiku, I wrote a separate haiku for each prompt word. And I wrote a tanka. Anyway, here are my offerings for this week:

“Withered Rose” by phanlop88 @FreeDigitalPhotos.net

UNDER THE SUN

Long past spring’s first bloom
wilted under sun’s harsh rays
petals cling to life

“Starry Night Sky” by samarttiw @FreeDigitalPhotos

OVER THE SEA

A blanket of stars
stretched across the sky over
the dark, endless sea

Scary landscape. Abstract natural backgrounds for your design

MOON AMONG STARS

Gazing at the sky
I know how the moon must feel
Trapped in its orbit
A satellite among stars
Alone in the universe
