Misty Morning in New Hampshire

I’m not a poet, but inspired by some of my blogger friends who pen lovely, lyrical poetry, this haiku came to mind this morning on my drive to work. As opposed to many commuters who battle gridlock traffic to get to their jobs, I am blessed to travel Interstate 89 on a scenic 20-mile stretch. This highway is lined with gorgeous, towering trees which are beginning to bud. Mountains loom in the distance, and on days like today, they are sometimes shrouded in mist or fog. This beautiful drive–rain or shine or snow–never fails to impress me no matter how many times I travel this road. I can’t help but feel awe-inspired by nature’s majesty.

Don’t worry, folks. I did NOT take these pictures while driving. These pics are from my archives, and not from this morning. Hopefully these photos will give you some idea of why I find my drive to work so inspiring.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

  1. What a beautiful poem, Tricia! Don’t discount your poetic skills.

I can certainly see why you were inspired. I’ll admit I don’t particularly enjoy driving 30 miles to work and 30 miles back, but I do have a lovely drive, regardless of the weather, and it never fails to inspire me. 🙂
