At the beginning of my writing journey, I submitted a poorly written manuscript to at least a dozen agents. Yes, I still cringe when I think about it. This is an excellent article about queries from someone who has been there. Thank you, Melissa Janda, for writing this!

Rings a bell. I submitted my poorly written manuscript to several agents in about 1996. I still cringe when I think about it, too. Totally blew my chance of anyone looking at any of my stuff ever again I suspect.

I don’t think there’s any rule against querying the same agents again with a different manuscript. After all this time, I doubt any of those agents remember me or my book. I’m sure you didn’t blow your chance of anyone looking at your stuff. I’m reading Few are Chosen right now, and it’s very good.
