I wrote this tanka for Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge. It occurred to me this morning that I write way too many poems about snow. When I look outside my window, that’s what I see. And though our last batch of snow from a couple of weeks ago has almost completely melted, we’re supposed to have more tomorrow. I’m looking forward to the day when I look out the window and see greenery and flowers in full bloom. But, for now, here’s another poem about snow.

Spring Snow (Tanka)
Dark clouds tumble forth
Overtaking the cold sky
Spring flowers cower
From the storm that threatens to
Blanket the world in fresh snow
Spring’s on its way, Tricia. Won’t be long now.

I don’t think I could take another round of snow, this spring. Courage!
